Kasar

Kasar vs Affinity

Affinity scores your relationships. Kasar keeps them warm.

Affinity holds a firm's relationship memory: every email and meeting captured, a score per relationship, the path to an intro. But that score runs on email and calendar, LinkedIn and WhatsApp only count when logged by hand, and sending happens in batches of 200. Kasar also captures LinkedIn and WhatsApp, and follows up with each contact until they reply.

In Kasar, one founder's or one LP's email, LinkedIn and WhatsApp sit on a single screen, filed on their record. You answer from the CRM, wherever they wrote to you.

Affinity and Kasar: two CRMs for a relationship business?

At a fund, deals are won through relationships: the right CRM is the one that moves them forward, not just the one that keeps score.

Affinity is built for deal teams: venture capital, private equity, private credit, investment banking. Its foundation is solid. On every plan, its pricing grid captures email and calendar with no data entry, creates records on its own, scores each relationship and shows the warmest path to a contact. The Scale plan adds a notetaker, an AI chat and inferred connections beyond your email history.

The gap opens when someone has to write. Affinity's score feeds on email and calendar. A LinkedIn or WhatsApp conversation only counts when someone logs it by hand, and sending happens in batches. Kasar captures all three channels, then acts on them: the sequence goes out, the follow-up comes next, the reply lands on the founder's or the LP's record. Affinity scores your relationships. Kasar keeps them warm.

Which exchanges does relationship strength rest on?

A score that ignores the channel a relationship lives on ends up rating as cold a contact you talk to every week.

According to its relationship intelligence tutorial, Affinity analyzes the email and calendar of every connected team member, plus interactions logged by hand, "a call, a LinkedIn conversation". The score runs from 10 to 100, based on how recent and how frequent the exchanges are, and is recalculated every 6 hours. LinkedIn also comes in through the connections import: you request your archive from LinkedIn, which sends it within 24 to 48 hours, then you upload the Connections.csv file. You then know who is connected to whom. The same tutorial states that people who come in only from LinkedIn get no relationship strength score.

Kasar computes the strength of each relationship from every exchange it syncs: emails, meetings, LinkedIn and WhatsApp messages. A relationship kept up across several channels weighs more, and every contact and every company shows the team member with the strongest tie. LinkedIn goes through the Chrome extension, plugged into the LinkedIn session already open in Chrome; WhatsApp links up by QR code. Threads show up in the inbox, those of contacts already in the CRM are filed on their record, and you reply from Kasar.

The record is edited under the profile header, and saves without a save button.

  • The same Kasar panel, on four different pages:
  • The record is edited under the profile header, and saves without a save button.
  • Three profiles ticked in the results page, imported and enriched in one go.
  • Two participants recognised in the thread, and Solvya created along with them.
  • On juridia.fr, the company record and its four contacts, without opening the CRM.

After the intro, who follows up?

An intro you earned and then left hanging costs more than one you never asked for.

Affinity's sending tool is called Bulk Email. Its help center keeps it for the Scale, Advanced and Enterprise plans, and sets two rules: 200 recipients at most per batch, and only one batch running at a time. Messages go out from your own mailbox. The same page leaves emails with images or branded layouts to the Mailchimp integration. We found no multi-step sequence, and no automatic stop on reply, on its pages as of October 18, 2026.

At Kasar, a follow-up is a sequence. It is sent over SMTP from your own Gmail or Outlook mailboxes; Pro alternates between 5 sending addresses, Max between 10. The day the founder replies, the sequence stops and their answer is filed on their record, next to the deal. On Max, one sequence chains email, a LinkedIn message and WhatsApp. An automation then creates the task for the next meeting, and no deal is left to go cold.

What changes from one send to the next: the recipient, and the lines pulled from their record. The account itself never moves, and that is where the reply lands.

  • A campaign seen from its sender’s own mailbox, Thomas Leroy, thomas@kasar.app:
  • Sent to Claire Besson, Juridia. Personalised message, signed by the sender’s own domain. Status: sent.
  • Sent to Marc Aubert, Sereno. Same template, two personalised lines. Status: sent.
  • Sent to Sofia Nunes, Alveo. Same template, two personalised lines. Status: followed up.
  • Reply from Claire Besson, received in Thomas’s mailbox and attached to her record.

Deal flow, portfolio, LPs: which data model?

A fund tracks companies, rounds, holdings and limited partners: a CRM that knows only three shapes sends you back to the spreadsheet.

Affinity organizes everything into three list types: people, organizations and opportunities. Its help center puts LPs and fundraising in opportunity lists, deal flow and portfolio companies in organization lists. Each list carries its own fields and stages.

Kasar starts with contacts, companies and deals, then opens 2 custom objects on Free and 5 on Pro. Your funds, vehicles, LPs and holdings become objects in their own right, linked to one another: a company carries several deals, an LP commits to several funds. Each object gets its own views and automations, and Pro includes 3 pipelines, Max 10. The method for structuring it all is in our deal flow guide for funds.

On which plan do AI and automations start?

A fund's repeated chores, follow-ups, updates and reminders, only get lighter if the tool takes them on from day one.

Affinity's MCP server is hosted, reads and writes, and starts on the Scale plan. The grid caps the API at 100,000 calls a month on Scale and Advanced, and MCP queries draw on the same allowance. The Automation Builder only opens from Advanced. On Advanced, only account admins build them.

Kasar gives you its MCP server and its 42 tools on every plan, Free included. Claude or ChatGPT join it over OAuth 2.1, then act with your permissions: find a founder, move a deal, create a task, read a thread. Automations start at 3 active on Free, rise to 20 on Pro and become unlimited on Max, with triggers, conditions and webhooks both ways.

How do you migrate from Affinity to Kasar?

A fund's database holds years of relationships: moving it is prepared list by list.

Affinity's help center describes a CSV export per list view, with notes and people, plus introductions on people and organization lists. Two caveats: the connections column exports no data, and exporting every list at once is reserved for Enterprise admins. Plan on one file per list.

Every Kasar plan takes in CSV and Excel files, and Leo matches each column to a field without spending a credit. If your exports mix phone or date formats, the free import cleaner straightens them out inside your browser. Then connect Outlook or Gmail, then LinkedIn and WhatsApp: relationship strength is recalculated from the synced exchanges. The rest of the product is on the features page.

Eight people for a year: what budget?

A per-seat price means nothing until you compare plans that do the same job. Here is the total for a typical team, assumptions included.

The math assumes eight users billed yearly, at public prices as of October 18, 2026. Affinity lists its prices in dollars, per user per year; Kasar in euros, per seat per month. Each amount stays in its own currency.

We take Affinity Scale, the first plan that opens bulk email and the MCP server: 8 × $2,300 = $18,400 a year. Automations require Advanced: 8 × $2,700 = $21,600 a year. The Essential plan, at $2,000, has neither.

Kasar Pro: 8 × €49 × 12 = €4,704 a year, with email sequences, 20 automations, 5 custom objects, plus LinkedIn or WhatsApp of your choice. Kasar Max: 8 × €99 × 12 = €9,504 a year, with LinkedIn and WhatsApp together, three-channel sequences and unlimited automations. The simulator on the pricing page reruns the math at your team size.
